Introducing Larkpipe: the CRM for sales teams
The Larkpipe team · · 5 min read
Most sales teams keep their customers in three places at once: a spreadsheet of contacts, a pipeline someone updates on Fridays, and an inbox only one person can read. Larkpipe puts those in one shared place. It holds your team's people, companies and opportunities, the history of every conversation with them, and the work still to do. Today we're opening it to every team.
Who it's for
Larkpipe is for sales teams that track people, companies and deals together. That means two kinds of users: the salespeople who work in it all day, and the leads or ops people who set it up, shape the data model and invite the team.
Records that feel like a spreadsheet
People, companies and opportunities each live in a table you edit in place. Click a cell and change it. Show, hide, resize and reorder columns. Select rows to assign an owner or a team to many records at once, or to delete them.
Every team tracks something we can't predict, so admins can add custom fields to each record type: text, number, currency, date, checkbox, select, multi-select, URL, email and phone. Custom fields filter, sort, import and export like the built-in ones.
Filters use operators that fit the field, plus "owner is me" and "team is one of my teams". Save a set of filters, sorting and columns as a view: private views are yours, and workspace views, which admins manage, are shared with everyone. Press ⌘K anywhere to find a record, open a page, create a record or a task, or switch workspace.
A pipeline you can drag
An opportunity view can also be a kanban board, with one column per stage. Each column shows how many deals it holds and their total amount. Drag a card to move it to another stage. Moving it to a won or lost stage records the close date, and moving it back to an open stage clears it. Admins add, rename, recolour and reorder stages, and when a stage is deleted, Larkpipe asks where its opportunities should go.
One page per record, with the whole story
Open a record and you get its fields on one side and its history on the other. The timeline shows notes, calls, meetings and synced email in order, along with events such as a change of owner, team or stage. Notes are rich text, and you can @-mention a teammate to bring them in. A company's timeline includes the activity of its people, so you see the whole account in one scroll. Related records, tasks and synced emails each have their own tab, and person and company pages show upcoming meetings.
Tasks, and "My day"
Follow-ups are where deals are won or lost, so tasks are first-class. The Tasks page groups your work as Overdue, Today, Upcoming and No date, and you can filter it by assignee and team. Create a task from that page, from a record, or with ⌘K. The sidebar badge counts what's overdue or due today, and the bell tells you when a task is assigned to you or falls due.
Gmail and Calendar, read-only
Each member can connect their own Google account. Larkpipe imports the last 90 days of email and keeps syncing, and reads the primary calendar from 90 days back to 365 days ahead. Threads attach to people by email address and to companies by domain, and meetings with matching attendees appear on the timeline. Nobody has to file anything.
We made a few choices about privacy that we think a CRM should make by default:
- Access is read-only. Larkpipe never sends email and never changes or deletes anything in Google.
- Threads where every participant is inside your workspace are skipped.
- For each connected account, you decide whether teammates see full email content or only subjects, participants and dates.
- Guests never see email content.
- Disconnecting an account removes the emails and meetings synced from it.
Teams, roles and guest access
Every workspace member has one of four roles. The owner can do everything, including transferring ownership and deleting the workspace. Admins manage members, invites and teams, and set up fields, pipeline stages and shared views. Members work with every record: create, edit, delete, import and export, plus tasks, the dashboard and Google sync.
Guests are for the people outside your company who still help you sell: agencies, resellers, contractors. Records can belong to a team, and a guest sees only the records of the teams they're on. A record with no team is hidden from guests. Guests can add notes, calls, meetings and tasks to the records they see, but they can't edit fields, export, open the dashboard or settings, or read email content.
To bring someone in, an owner or admin creates an invite link for their email address, with a role and teams. Larkpipe doesn't send the email; you share the link yourself. It works only for that address and expires after 7 days.
Bring your data, and take it with you
Moving in shouldn't take a weekend. Import people, companies and opportunities from CSV, up to 5,000 rows at a time. Columns are matched from your headers, owners by email and teams by name. Before anything saves you see which rows have problems, and you choose whether duplicates (people matched by email, companies by domain) are skipped, updated or created. Afterwards you get a count of created, updated, skipped and failed rows.
Leaving should be just as easy. Export the list you're on as CSV, with its filters, sorting, visible columns and custom fields, up to 20,000 rows per export.
Reporting
The dashboard shows open pipeline value by stage, won value, win rate, deals won by owner and by team, and activity by type and by teammate. Filter it by date range, owner and team to see how a quarter or a team is going.
An assistant that works within your role
Larkpipe includes an AI assistant in a panel on every workspace page. Ask it to find records, read a timeline or your tasks, update fields, add a note or create a task. It acts with your role, so it can never do more than you can, and a guest's assistant has a guest's rights. Every reply lists the actions it took, with links to the records it touched, and anything it wrote is marked "via assistant".
Notifications that stay in their lane
The bell in the sidebar shows what needs you in the workspace you're in: a task assigned to you or falling due, a meeting starting in 15 minutes, an @-mention in a note, a record assigned to you, being added to a team, or a change to your role. Admins also hear when an invite is accepted. Click one and you land on the record or task it's about.
Your workspace is yours
Every workspace is separate. People in other workspaces can't see your records, and one person can belong to several workspaces with a different role in each. Larkpipe's operators can only see your records by signing in as one of your members, and each such session is logged.
What we left out on purpose
A CRM grows by accretion until nobody can find anything, so we were strict about scope. Larkpipe doesn't send email, run campaigns or newsletters, score leads, build quotes or invoices, or handle support tickets. Each of those is a product of its own. Larkpipe does one job: it keeps a sales team's relationships, conversations and follow-ups in order, so the next step on every deal is obvious to whoever opens it.
Get started
Setting up takes one sitting: create a workspace, import a CSV or connect Google, and invite a teammate. Create your workspace and see your team's deals in one place.
